Message
I have been teaching philosophy of law and other related issues in law and moral theory for 37 years at Hokkaido University. In my career, I have also taught on several occasions in the USA and UK, and given various presentations at international conferences. I love this beautiful campus of the university and the nationally-known liberal academic environment of the School of Law. Although I retired from the university in 2020, I am honored to be still a part of the School of Law.
Being involved in the development of MJSP, I believe MJSP is an attractive interdisciplinary program in Japanese studies. I am delighted to be able to join you and my teaching colleagues for the progress of this program, and especially to provide you with a cultural-philosophical perspective on law in modern Japan.
